Our ethics
The sea welcomes us.Let’s take care of it.
At Sataya, we are visitors in a living world. Taking our time, watching carefully and respecting what surrounds us: this is how we want to travel.
Our approach in practice
In Sataya’s lagoon
We aretheir guests.
The lagoon is a resting place for spinner dolphins. Respecting that quiet gives an encounter its meaning: leaving them space and the freedom to carry on with their lives.
Leave their path clear.
Watch without chasing, surrounding or blocking the dolphins’ path.
Keep your distance.
Do not touch, feed or try to provoke a reaction for a photograph.
Be ready to wait, or step back.
The animals’ rest and your guide’s instructions come before entering the water. Their presence never guarantees a swim.
Away from the crowds
Fewer crowds.More tranquillity.
We aim to choose cruise dates outside peak visitor periods and the high season, whenever conditions allow. The idea is to discover Sataya in a calmer atmosphere and enjoy a more intimate moment with the dolphins.
Once there, we keep the programme flexible to favour moments when fewer people are in the water. The dolphins’ rest, sea conditions and our guides’ instructions remain the priorities when deciding whether to enter the water. The number of visitors in the lagoon can vary from day to day.

Small habits to bring along
Small gestures. For this great blue sea.
Caring for the reef starts when you pack and continues in the water. A few simple habits to share throughout the trip.
Think beyond sunscreen.
Wear a UV-protective top in the water, a hat on deck and seek shade during the hottest hours. This reduces the area needing sunscreen, while keeping suitable sun protection on exposed skin.
Check your sunscreen’s ingredients.
As a precaution, avoid ingredients such as oxybenzone and octinoxate, which can affect marine organisms. A ‘reef safe’ claim alone does not guarantee a harmless product. A pharmacist can help you choose.
Admire the reef without touching it.
Keep fins clear of corals, never stand on them and leave everything where you find it. Shells, corals and animals belong in their habitat.
Keep your belongings aboard.
Bring a reusable bottle, limit packaging and secure loose belongings: the wind can quickly carry away a bag or tissue. No rubbish should end up in the sea.

People by your side
In good company. In the water too.
Our activities are led by professionals. Before each outing, the team explains what to expect, the instructions and site-specific precautions. They take your confidence and the day’s conditions into account.
You can ask questions, mention tiredness or choose to stay aboard. Enjoying the sea never means having to push beyond your limits.
Meet the team

An honest approach.Always evolving.
Flying to Egypt and sailing on a motor yacht have an environmental footprint. Travelling outside peak visitor periods does not erase it. Our aim is to work on what we can improve: the dates and timing of outings, care for wildlife and the habits we share aboard.
Want to understand what this means for your departure? Let’s discuss the outings, guidance and your expectations before you book.
Is a dolphin encounter guaranteed?
No. Sataya’s dolphins are wild. Their presence and viewing conditions vary. An outing may be adapted, postponed or cancelled to respect their rest, their behaviour or sea conditions. The trip also includes exploring reefs and enjoying life aboard.
What sun protection should I bring?
Bring UV-protective clothing for outings, a hat and sunglasses for the deck, and make use of shade. Keep using suitable sunscreen on exposed skin. Check the ingredients, particularly for oxybenzone or octinoxate, rather than relying solely on a ‘reef safe’ claim. Ask a pharmacist if you are unsure.
Do I need experience to join the activities?
Requirements depend on the activity. Before departure, tell us how confident you feel in the water and about any concerns. The professionals aboard will guide you according to your level and the conditions. You can always choose to stay on the yacht: no outing is compulsory.
